SYMPTOMS OF WIN


Whenever a leader tries to bring about a change, he is opposed by the majority who have made themselves comfortable with the way things are. CHANGE is resisted unanimously. Following are the various stages which lead to win:

·         You are commented upon by people. They will go the extra step to make you realize that you are going to be a failure and this new trick won’t be successful, they have seen many people like you coming and going but nothing has happened; better join the crowd and do not try to become a HERO and blah-blah. This is the first stage of your journey towards success.

·         When you don’t listen to them and continue travelling your own path, all of them who were shouting against you will all of a sudden start avoiding meeting even your eyes. Being on the receiving side of IGNORANCE is the second stage.

·         The third stage arrives when all those who were ignoring you will start fighting with you rigorously and they really come hard on you. This is the toughest phase as most of the movements get abandoned at this stage only

·         Fourth stage is YOU WIN.


All those who have become successful in bringing about a change have gone through all these stages knowingly or unknowingly. These principles apply to becoming successful in NETWORK MARKETING as well as we as networkers bring about a completely new perspective to the world of marketing.
So I wish you all the courage and determination to go to the next stage and complete all the four stages if you find yourself stuck in any one of the mentioned stages.

GOING TO TALK TO A NEW RECRUIT: MIND THESE THREE POINTS


Usually what we do when we get a new recruit in our team, we go all out with support to him to make him comfortable and cozy and pampered as we tell him that we are there for him and we’ll make him successful no matter what, come what may I’ll be there for helping you out and eventually you’ll also be successful and we are going to conquer the world and blah blah. While we think that it’s a good approach but in reality IT ISN’T. By telling those words as mentioned above we are giving wrong signals to the newly joined associate as he’ll have a wrong notion of the role of an upline for him. He’d think that it is the moral duty of an upline to make him successful no matter what and this in turns doesn’t create that positive mindset for that new person coming in our business and creates a wrong expectation. What we should do has been mentioned as follows:

1.      You Are The Responsible One:
Tell the associates upfront this thing that it is you who will be responsible for your success in this business. Your success will be only credited to you and nobody else will be able to take a slice of your success.
However, if you fail; you and only you will be responsible for your failure. You cannot blame anybody or any situation for your failure.

So this is something really bold to tell to a new recruit but this will certainly create a positive mindset from the first day in his business and he’ll become a more responsible leader.


2.      Get Independent Of Me:
Second thing which I would recommend you to tell your new recruit upfront is that his success depends on how quickly he gets independent of your help as one of the most important reasons to be a part of network marketing is to become INDEPENDENT and the first step for that starts by becoming independent of my help and guidance.
“And if I want you to become successful I’ll push you to do a lot of things independently and we’ll work together on a plan which we’ll discuss and create for making you an independent leader. Will that be okay for you?”


3.      How do you want me manage your lows (bad times):
Third thing which I’d recommend is to tell that there will be highs and lows in your business. This is the pattern of this business as well as the learning curve. Everything will be good when things are high but when things aren’t in your favor, and you stop coming to the meetings, stop picking calls and all those ways of avoiding to come forward, what do you want me to do?
Do you want me to push you and make you do things which are necessary yet uncomfortable for you in that low period of your network marketing career?
Do you want me to be tough to help you bail out of that situation?

Hopefully your associate will tell you o be tough and not bother about his bad mental state.

Thus I wish that these three points help you convert majority of you associates into responsible leaders as quickly as possible.

GIVING LIFE EDUCATION

It just happened yesterday that I was trying to find out that why one or two good groups of mine were not producing good enough results despite having good leaders leading them. So I decided to go and talk to a few associates of one of those groups who had no downlines after a few months joining my organization. After talking to two of them for around 30 min each I could find out that they were not given the education about life- important things like why is it important to earn good amount of money, why do they want to go for a job after finishing their colleges and degrees, how they can get, whatever they aspire for after getting a job, right now by giving just 7-8 hrs a week, what difference in their lives will an income of 10000 rs will make right now and talks like that. I do want to mention this that in my organization most of the associates are students and very young, so I needed to explain these subjects in an elaborate manner than I’d explain a grown up. 

At the end of the talks I found out that those associates became more enthusiastic and focused about taking work more seriously and doing it for themselves rather than for their uplines. Another thing which I could realize that when I was a starter in this business I also had the opportunities to talk to successful leaders in my upline and those talks or small meetings had helped me learn the reality of life and the reasons of earning little earlier than other people around me which had helped me get more focused. And eventually I started seeking every such opportunity to learn something new related to life by meeting those successful uplines of mine.

The lesson I learnt yesterday was that for making our organization an overall growing one and for making more and newcomers get working immediately, it is really important to talk to them personally. And I think that it is surely possible for us, the senior successful leaders, to be able to meet at least one of our downlines everyday and spend some time together clearing his vision and realizing him the potential of network marketing. Well, I’m starting to do it from today onwards and I hope that u too start doing it and not expect your pin rank holders only to take care of this work.

HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY APPROACH FAMILY AND FRIENDS

We have a famous saying in hindi “GHAR KI MURGI DAAL BARABAR”. The same is explained well by the saying,” ONE CAN’T BE THE PROPHET IN HIS HOMETOWN” and because of this we generally are very hesitant and skeptical about discussing the opportunity of network marketing with our family members especially when it comes to talking to our uncles or elder brothers and for that matter anybody who has seen you grow. If you happen to pick up the courage or the confidence to tell them the benefits of the network marketing industry and your products which is being offered by your company, you often hear remarks such as,” YOU ARE SEEING THIS TODAY, YOU’RE A KID, WE HAVE TRIED MANY SUCH MONEY MAKING SCHEMES AND BLAH BLAH BLAH”. What to do to recruit our family members and relatives to enroll them into our program? 
Well, following ways might help you in overcoming this problem:

  I.            Make a compliment to the family member:
You should start the talk by appreciating his efforts for pushing you to do things and standing by you whenever you decided to do something new. You tell him/her that you always feel that he/she has got my back no matter what because we are family. If it is appropriate for your family then you can always start the invitation by appreciating them on the values of validation, support and encouragement, then the rest of the invitation will go very well. But the compliment has to be a sincere one.

      II.            Use an approach that asks for their help:
You might be a big shot on other things but when you give a sincere compliment to a family member, he/she would want to listen to that again as everybody likes to be complimented. So when you ask for their help in anything after giving a compliment and praising them they will invariably say yes to you and will ask you what kind of help you need.
Then you can tell,”I have got enrolled into a program with a business opportunity and I don’t know all the answers yet and I’m scared to death for facing a stranger who could all kinds of questions to me about which I don’t know. So I want you to help me out in practicing the details as I need a familiar face to do it comfortably and grow in confidence. Will you allow me to show my products to you and help me make my presentation better?” This way your presentation will be covered.

    III.            Use the third party tools to do the follow up:
You should refrain yourself to use your own words and show them that you are an expert. You should use third party tools like a magazine or a book on network marketing or a video of testimonies or anything which will convey the things you want to convey to that person without telling them yourself. This third party can be your upline or any senior associate of the organization you are working with. Before inviting that person you should edify him – make his gravity and explain your family member that he/she is a respectable person and immensely successful. KNOWLEDGE ON FIRE IS BETTER THAN IGNORANCE ON FIRE

With this blog I want to discuss about the biggest challenge faced in the network marketing profession and that challenge is the lack of training”.  There is lots of motivation, lots of excitement, tons of ambition but there is not enough training. Most of the times it is assumed that people will find their own ways to train themselves or they will learn on their own and other assumptions.
We need to concentrate on teaching our associates every aspect of the network marketing business as it is “TEACHING BUSINESS” and not a business of just getting sales. We need to teach people about:
  • How to create a situation where you never run out of quality people to talk to;
  • How do you prepare a proper introduction;
  • How do you do a proper invitation;
  • How do you promote an event;
  • How do you follow up;
  • How do you close a sale;
  • How do you get a new person started;
  • How do you conduct a proper one on one meeting;
  • How do you conduct a proper home meeting;
  • How do you conduct a larger gathering – a board meeting or a venue meeting;
  • How do you get people to events;
We can always be excited and enthusiastic but if we don’t get a proper training culture or system developed into our organization, the results are going to be very predictable and most of the times disappointing. There always be an equal number of people leaving your organization as the no. of new recruits and though your organization count will be increasing but the number of active associates will remain more or less the same.
You can expect people to get all the information on their own and build their business or you can develop a training culture and take a goal of making your organization the best trained organization in the whole company. It doesn’t depend on the size of the organization you have, it can be small, medium or large but it should be well equipped to handle all the situations as mentioned above. If you make sure that all your associates are getting the fundamentals engrained in them, they will automatically develop the confidence which will take your business exponential. Because when you add training to excitement, ambition, enthusiasm and all those things, just imagine how wonderful the results will be.
There is so much criticism about MLM industry because of ignorance among the people who are pursuing it. Rather than keeping ignorance on fire, how about knowledge on fire .
Thus I suggest all of you reading this blog to sit with your associates today and start teaching them one thing or the other which you think that is to be taught to them.

RELATIONSHIP FIRST, PROSPECTING SECOND


Today I was going through a video blog of a very successful network marketer and he was discussing this very important topic called “RELATIONSHIPS”. He told that the no. 1 TIP for getting successful in MLM is that he never approaches anybody or rarely approaches a prospect with the opportunity first, he builds a relationship. The relationship is the KEY, the relationship is his objective, the relationship is his goal. He loves finding out about them, talking to them, knowing what’s happening in their lives and then he almost never has even bring up the opportunity of doing business, they ask him, “So , what is it that you do?” and he never replies in the features of his business. His reply is always in terms of the benefits of the business. For example- when somebody asks him about his profession, he replies that he is into a business where I can work from home and I can help other people and it makes a difference to my life and it makes a difference to their lives as well, it gives me time freedom, financial freedom, and other benefits and not the features of his product, company or opportunity.
So remember this statement –RELATIONSHIP FIRST, PROSPECTING SECOND. Network marketing attracts a black eye because people go for prospecting first and when somebody joins their network, then may be, they develop a good relationship. This becomes very obvious to the other people that why are u talking to them and this generally doesn’t generate a good feeling. People can tell that you don’t really care.
P.S. – it is important to know that one should not only focus on relationship and never reach the business because you are there to build a business. At some point of time you need to bring that topic of building business with the prospect when the time feels suitable and when it’s appropriate and when it’s natural, talk about the benefits which the network marketing profession brings. Use this method and see how your recruitment number increases.

Health of an organization


Number of new presentations happening in any given organization at any given point of time shows the actual health of the organization.

Whenever the work is stagnant, growing or exponentially rising, its status should always be determined number of new prospects being introduced to the business opportunity and not only the no. of conversions..

All one has to do at the when the work is stagnant is to go back to the drawing board i.e. invitations. Sit with your associates individually and take out names opresentations fixed and conducted within a week or 10 days and teach your ref their guests who have not been shown presentations yet or have been overlooked for any stupid or valid reason. Get those sponsible senior associates to do the same in their respective groups.
Getting into the habit of keeping a count of the no. of presentations being covered in your group on a daily basis is the best way to monitor the work. This helps you focus on exact problem of a particular group. For example, if in a group there are good no. of presentations happening but the no of conversions is less, this means that the associates have to be trained for covering follow ups properly and on time as well. If in another group, no. of presentations covered is not great, still the no of conversions is high that means that group has been given proper follow up training but they are not working upto their potential and the no of presenters in that group has to be increased. Similarly there can be other situations as well.
Hope this way of monitoring will help you get ahead in your business.

OTHER THAN SALES


Whenever an associate becomes a pin rank holder or becomes a person who has got a group of people working in his supervision, he/ she starts taking weekly or monthly targets and these targets are usually ( most of the times) are in terms of sales or income. This target is distributed amongst different sub groups and the responsibility is also assigned to the upcoming leaders of that particular organization. This is an extremely good habit to develop and this should be every week by assessing the work done in the previous week and the growth of the group as well. But what I wanted to point out today was that “network marketing is not a business of sales, it is a business of teaching or training people”. Thus there must be somebody, most of the times the senior most leader of any organization who must take care of the other aspects of the business as well which include – personality development of the associates , their mutual bonding , formation of core groups , commitment level, setting of priorities, communication, replacements of uplines by new upcoming leaders, duplication, no. of new presenters in the group, etc. and this should be done as seriously as w do the sales work. It should always be kept in mind that sales are the outcome of a well balanced team and there must be a huge amount of focus on making it balanced and developing trust on the system and the people
