THE ILLUSION CALLED CONTROL

"The job in MLM is to get out of job". It's a great line to sum up everything which is required for management or field work or anything which is a part of network marketing. This statement also tells that MLM is a place for making heroes and not becoming one and consequently it's about giving control to new upcoming heroes of the organization and give them enough mental strength that they could pass the baton as well to their replacements. 

To have the control over the group is important if one wants to have a regular linearly increasing income. But MLM is all about exponential growth and this comes by believing in people and giving them control of their destinies by making them responsible for their income and work. Appreciation and encouragement become the best friends for a trainer or teacher and being appreciated and encouraged gives belief and thus confidence to the new associate.

More number of confident and responsible associates we generate, lesser is our control over their work (as they gain the control now) and more is the freedom which is the essence of being a part of network marketing industry. 

"Thinking is a tough job and that's why I do it"- HENRY FORD. Thus we can use the extra time we have got in doing innovations and increasing the efficiency of the group and of course, to increase the width of our network and taking the work of the organization to a different level.We need to understand that we need to replace our uplines as well and take their roles for our organization. To understand the concept of width and depth in network, I recommend you to go through my post on the same topic. 
By losing control over the group doesn't mean to lose total control and to have no grip on the work at all. One must be in the position of regaining the control whenever a downfall occurs or there is a situation which demands it. What I mean by LOSING CONTROL over here is giving wings of freedom to our associates who also want to grow bigger and want to share the responsibilities. New people bring new ideas and this always helps. All we should take care once we replace ourselves with our senior associates is that we should have a regular communication with the next level leaders as well as the upcoming ones.

The other side of the coin called MOTIVATION





Motivation and edification are two of the most important aspects of network marketing. I’ll talk about edification in some other post. The word motivation brings into picture two kinds of motivation:


1. Knowing how to keep yourselves highly motivated


2. Knowing what motivates your downlines and prospects.


I’ve already discussed about the first topic above in the post “being eternally motivated”. I’d recommend you to go through that article as well to understand this topic completely.


Knowing what motivates your downlines and prospects:


This is something which many of us miss out on even after knowing it or don’t know it at all. If somebody is a part of network marketing industry, there must have been something which motivated them to join in. This motivation varies among different categories of consumer groups. What I mean to say is that something which motivates a grown person may not be as motivating for a student and vice versa. Thus we should know the difference while discussing our business plan or anything related to your business with a prospect. We must find out what that customer needs and we should then be able to meet the requirements as such.


For a student or a young guy the following count for great motivation:


• Having a bike to roam around in college.


• Having enough money to watch movies in multiplexes.


• Having cash to go out with friends to hang out.


• Shopping of things which is considered unnecessary by elders but grabs a lot of eye in college and among friends.


• Some extra pocket money.


• Personality development.


• Exposure to the corporate world.


• Their immensely successful future.


For a grown up person with a family to care of the following are really motivating:


• Having a regular supply of an alternate income.


• Creating alternate source of income.


• Covering the extra expense of the education of their kids.


• Safe and secure future of kids.


• Travelling and Holidays at nice destinations.


• Extra time for the family and friends.


• Financial freedom.


• Early retirement.


Make sure you show correct things to correct category of prospects. Although I’ll suggest not to ASSUME anything as per categories, but it is better to have some perception about WHAT MOTIVATES PEOPLE.


Continuing with the topic of motivation for others I want to add that although we keep our eyes on motivating and attracting new prospects into our business, we forget about keeping our associates motivated. And folks I want to repeat “OUR JOB IN NETWORK MARKETING IS TO GET OUT OF JOB”. And this will only happen when we keep our associates motivated by our life style and everything else which we do or present in front of them.


I have heard many successful leaders use the line “You are my past and I am your future”. But the real essence lies in living this line and always living this line, so that your downlines can say that “you are their future and they are your past.” What I mean to convey is that one should always have a gap of respect, fortune, size of dreams and way of living which keeps the associates motivated to achieve more while you keep growing further up. Remember when the size of dreams of your downlines will become bigger than your dreams, they will stop getting motivated by you and will fall apart or move away.

I Have a Dream Speech- by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.
Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.
But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we have come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.
In a sense we have come to our nation's capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this check — a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quick sands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the Negro's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. Those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. There will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.
But there is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.
We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. They have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone.
As we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied, as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the Negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their selfhood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating "For Whites Only". We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.
I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.
Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair.
I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification; one day right there in Alabama, little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.
I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with a new meaning, "My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring."
And if America is to be a great nation this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania!
Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado!
Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California!
But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia!
Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee!
Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.
And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

Ask, Believe & Receive


When this topic came to my mind I was thinking whether to share with you all or not as this concept is something which isn’t easy to digest and doesn’t directly apply to network marketing in technical terms but then getting successful in MLM, one has to remain really motivated and positive all the time and this concept is something which will help outstandingly in remaining motivated focused and patient.

ASK or WISH
We are wishing (or asking) for something good to happen to us all the time, whether consciously or unconsciously or sub-consciously. It happens all the time – when we see a nice house, a happy family, a beautiful car, when we pray to GOD or so many things which we wish to have in our lives and whom we aspire to become like. To ASK we don’t need to speak out those words loud to tell others. Just a feeling of being in that state is enough. What is more important is the belief that the demand will be fulfilled.
Whenever somebody asks anything, it is important that there should be a time buffer involved in receiving the order. Because if there won’t be a time buffer, we might end up with the stupid things which we also wish to have sometime without thinking.
So the first step is to ask and then feel happy about your demand and think, discuss, visualize the life after getting the wish fulfilled.

BELIEVE
“Whatever we believe in today was someday just a gentle thought”. That thought might have been about the existence of the almighty, a superior power or a belief in religion or worshipping or anything. That thought might have been completely yours or may have been passed onto us by somebody. The only reason for that gentle thought to become a belief today is the number of times that has been repeated in our mind and today that belief is reality to us.
Similarly, when we wish for something today, we got to repeat it n number of times, so that it becomes a belief and consequently a reality.
So for getting to the receiving section from the asking department one has to believe.

RECEIVE
This is the most important juncture of the three step process. Many times we falter here and the courier goes back to the source. Even a courier boy checks the address and the person correctly before doing the delivery. Same happens with all us receiving our wishes from the UNIVERSE. While giving the gift we asked for the UNIVERSE checks if we are the same enthusiastic person who had asked for it or have we changed. This is also termed as the match of the mental frequencies.
Humans have been gifted with something amazing called EMOTIONS. The emotions are our navigation system which keeps mental frequencies at check. Whenever we feel bad or just not feeling good, we get out of the alignment of the wish getting fulfilled and when we feel good we are in alignment and on the way to get our wishes fulfilled.

And being happy is the most important aspect of being positive and motivated, which is important for becoming successful in MULTI LEVEL MARKETING.

MISTAKES AND THE REAL YOU


“The first thing that happens after you make a mistake is that you become upset. This is the first indication of a mistake. At this point of being upset, you find who you really are!!”
At this point of being upset, we become of these characters:
  • ·         The Liar:  “No, no, no. It wasn’t me.” OR “I didn’t do them.” OR “Prove it”.
  • ·         The Blamer: “It’s your fault, not mine.” OR “If my wife didn’t spend so much money, I’d be better off financially” OR “Associates don’t listen to me anymore” OR “You weren’t clear in your instructions”.
  • ·         The Justifier: “Well, I don’t have a good education so that is why I don’t get ahead.” OR “I would have made it if I had more time.” OR “I couldn’t do it this time, but next time surely I’ll hit the target.” OR “Well, everyone else was doing it.”
  • ·         The Quitter: “I told you this business will never work.” OR “This is too hard and it’s not worth it. I’m going to do something else easier.” OR “Why I’m doing this? I don’t need this hassle.”
  • ·         The Denier: This person tries to bury his own mistakes. One of the Presidents of the US was caught in an extra marital affair with his secretary. The worse part was that he tried to deny this in front of everybody. These people often say these lines “No, there is nothing wrong. Things are fine.” OR “Mistake?? What mistake?” OR “Don’t worry. Things will work out.”

When people are upset due to a mistake or accident, one or more of these characteristics takes over them. If you want to learn and gain wisdom from the priceless mistake, you have to let “The Responsible You” eventually take control of the thinking and let of the emotions and say ,” What do I learn from this mistake?”
If a person after committing a mistake says that what he learned from this mistake is that he should never repeat it again, he probably hasn’t learned anything at all. Rather than saying that “I’ll never do it again”, one should say “I’m glad it happened because I learned this or that from this experience”.
So commit mistakes, take a lesson from it and rather than focusing on not committing it again focus on the valuable lesson you get out of this opportunity.

FAIL FASTER, SUCCEED SOONER



In the world of academics mistakes are perceived as bad and are to be avoided. In the world of education, the more mistakes a person makes, the less intelligent that person is thought to be.
In the world of practical application (in another words-- a world of streets), mistakes are opportunities to learn something new, something the person didn’t know before. Here, the more mistakes a person makes, the more he learns.

“Just remember the frustration you went through as you struggled to learn how to ride a bicycle (provided you know how to ride it). All your friends were riding but all you were doing is climbing on the bike and immediately falling off. You made mistake after mistake. Then suddenly, you stopped falling off, you begin to peddle, the bike begins rolling, and then suddenly like magic the whole new world opens to you. That is the magic found in mistakes!!

Some mistakes which led to ultimate magic:

v  Warren Buffet made the biggest investment mistake while acquiring Berkshire Hathway. It was a shirt manufacturing company which was acquired at a time when the textile industry was running out of America. For those interested in this fascinating story can go through the book “The Warren Buffet Way”, by Robert Hangstrom.

v  Levi Strauss headed for the gold fields of California to strike it rich in mining. However, he was not a good miner, so he instead began sewing pants out of canvas for the miners who were successful. Today, I think most of the world has heard of Levi’s Jeans.

v  It is said that Thomas Edison would never have invented the light bulb if he had been an employee for the company he ultimately founded—GENERAL ELECTRIC. It is said that Edison failed over 10,000 times before finally inventing the light bulb. If he had been an employee of a major corporation, he’d most likely have been fired for making so many mistakes.

v  Christopher Columbus’s big mistake was that he was looking for a trade route to China and accidently bumped into America. The most powerful country in the world is also somebody’s mistake.
v  The life-story of Abraham Lincoln is a story so many failures and thus is the story of a person to learn a lot from. One of the most renowned President of The United States (POTUS).



But the real story is not making mistake, but what do you learn out of making that very mistake. In the real life, you’re given the mistake first and then it’s up to you to find the lesson, if you ever find it. Since most of the people have not been taught how to make mistakes and learn from them, they either avoid mistakes altogether, which is a bigger mistake, or they make a mistake but fail to find a lesson from the mistake. And that is why we find so many people making the same mistake over and over again because they have never been taught how to learn from their mistakes.
In School, you are considered smart if you don’t make mistakes. In the business world, you’re smart only if you are ready to take challenge, commit mistakes and learn from them.

The fear of failure is the fastest way to reach it. Go out face the negativity, become tougher. Commit mistakes but try not to repeat them. Rectify yourself by learning from them and go again and commit a new mistake to learn a new lesson. This is called the creative process. Because if you have never failed, you have never lived.

BEING ETERNALLY MOTIVATED


It has been rightly said that the most difficult thing to teach somebody is the thing which that person already knows!!

In other words, THE ABILITY TO UNLEARN IS MORE DIFFICULT THAN THE ABILITY TO LEARN NEW THINGS.

 Now, let me come directly to the point I want to discuss with this post. Many times this happens with our well-trained associates that somehow, they start complaining about the shortage of guest-list, shortage of time; they start getting involved in non-productive work or something else which leads to the shift of their focus to things which should not be focusing at!! And thus as the law of attraction suggests, this reflects in their income and consequently your income, which is usually a dip.

 What happens now is that we start focusing on the way they are going about their presentations and follow-ups and start teaching them all the basic stuff all over again. This gets more annoying for the non-performing associate as he knows that he hasn’t forgotten what is being taught now (Although there can be cases where the basics have to be corrected, but let’s talk in general). What is on the lesser side??-- the enthusiasm with which the associate is promoting his business or product and it is the responsibility of the upline / mentor / sponsor of that fragile, immature associate to keep him motivated and enthusiastic.

Another point o consider now is that we should know that may be the same kind of motivation won’t work again for a particular associate as choices and interests change with time and exposure to the world. The success of a particular person in any field depends more on the excitement and enthusiasm than talent. The longer one is excited about any particular thing, person or way of living, closer he/she is to that thing, person or way of living. Thus we should find ways to keep ourselves motivated and energetic all the time for our work and people.

One very easy way to do this is to read good motivational books. Remember, a leader is a reader and thus we got to inculcate the habit of reading books regularly and we should encourage our associates to get into the habit of reading good books, articles or watching motivational tapes and movies. One such movie which I would love to tell all of you to watch is “THE PERSUIT OF HAPPYNESS” STARRING – WILL SMITH AND HIS SON JAYDEN SMITH!! WONDERFUL MOVIE. ALWAYS BRINGS SMILE TO MY FACE, EVEN NOW AS I TYPE THOSE WORDS.

One more habit which we must develop is that we should avoid company of those people who talk negative or may be if not negative, they aren’t even positive at all. These people are called the dream snatchers. And doing this is difficult as most of the times, they are your parents, family members and best of buddies. But one has to change the company to change the way he thinks and the way things occur in his life. ONE’S LIFE IS THE AVG OF THE 5 PEOPLE HE SPENDS MOST OF THE TIME WITH!!!

Another very interesting way is, which I follow, is to be happy all the time. When the mood gets off, go do something which you enjoy doing. Let it be talking to a friend, reading a book, watching movie, spending time with family… anything which makes you feel alive again. I play games. I shut my outside world and get into video games or some sports. Table-tennis, cricket, swimming being the most preferred ones. And when you are again feeling delighted, get back to business!! ANY DECISION TAKEN IN AN AWEFUL MOOD IS MOST OF THE TIMES AN AWFUL DECISION!! SO CHEER UP BEFORE DECIDING TO WORK OR DO ANYTHING FOR MAKING YOUR LIFE MORE BEAUTIFUL AND MEANINGFUL!!

CREATING A 90 DAY GAME PLAN


Set aside some time for thinking and formulate a 90 day or a 120 day plan for your work in 2012. When u ve done that, go to your friends and tell them,”See, this is what I ve planned for the next quarter of this new yr !! I’m confident of doing this, do u want to be a part of it!   

This is a wonderful way of bringing new , enthusiastic people in your network provided u ve worked out a pretty good plan and you are working to make that plan work as well.  

While u r laying out the work plan for the quarter of the year, do keep in mind the fact that it should be duplicable by your group in every quarter at their own levels and it should not be too complicated for them to understand.  

Below I m sharing the plan which I’m working on for the next 120 days:

  • Starting with three cycle achievers and above conferences for three pre-existing groups with 15-25 associates in a particular group.
  • Taking a target of producing 15 new cycle achievers in the respective groups in first 45-60 days.
  •  These conferences is to be followed by a mini- convention including all the three groups, where in which targets are given for getting the opportunity to speak in front of everybody.
  • There should be a gap of around 3 weeks from the conference to the mini-convention, so that you can check the development of the agendas discussed in the conference meetings.
  • This mini- convention is to be followed by a “silvers and above conference” for the whole organization where the new silvers will be from the bunch of associates who were cycle achievers in the conference meets.
  • The planning started in January and the silvers and above conference is to be held in April’s first or second week. This completes the first phase of operations.
  • The next phase is to start the whole process all over by proposing cycle achievers and above conferences for the groups of newly created silver and gold associates.thid will result in more number of conferences in this phase and thus more number of newly created cycle achievers as well and consequently a bigger convention and more number of silvers and above conferences


THIS IS MY PLAN FOR THE YEAR 2012, TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS THREE TIMES AND THEREAFTER ASSESS EVERYTHING AGAIN IN DECEMBER, 2012.

DEVELOP ASSOCIATES - YOU'LL GET SALES AUTOMATICALLY

“NETWORK MARKETING IS NOT A BUSINESS OF SALES RATHER IT IS A BUSINESS OF TEACHING AND EDUCATION” .  

“MLM IS A BUSINESS OF TEACHING A TEACHER HOW TO TEACH A TEACHER”.

Both the above written statements clearly refer to the essence and basics of network marketing. When we keep our focus on developing people, the sales are generated automatically. On the contrary, when we start focusing on the sales, our work gets out of control and it ends in mayhem.

If u teach a bunch of kids how to play an interesting game (say carom or ludo ), then you don’t need to tell them or force them to play it, if they have time provided you have generated enough enthusiasm in them too. Similarly, when we teach a bunch of people how to play the interesting game of a making a multi-billion business with the help of network marketing, we only need to keep them enthusiastic for playing the game and they will continue to play well and thus generate sales. As network marketing has never been the game of heroes;  it is a team game and will always remain that way, we should focus on making team players and generating team spirit amongst the associates.
While developing the technical aspects viz. giving presentations, covering follow ups ,etc we should take care of the development of an associate as a whole for becoming a better human being with good character and high self-esteem. The more confident one associate is, the more sales he generates as it is the confidence which gets transferred to the prospect.



Thus, we should be conducting regular workshops, meetings, trainings and other such events for giving them exposure as well as for sharing your experience with them. When the associates get subjected to such environment, a positive competition also develops which pushes them to perform better.

Remember, the better teacher u are , the better your business will be !!

WHAT R U SELLING ??????



With the question “What are you selling??” I want to point out to two different topics altogether and the interesting thing is that both of them are not the product which we as a network marketor are supposed to endorse.

First interpretation :
There are many companies in the MLM industry reaching out to millions of consumers with a wide range of products which includes vitamins, home accessories, cosmetics, jewelry, etc. and in the case of the company I’m working with i.e. eBIZ.com Pvt. Ltd. , it provides quality e-education products. But at the end of the day what is the main benefit of getting started with an MLM company is the "FREEDOM OF LIFE" which is sold here. 

Although it is really important for the product to be a good one and a highly sellable one as well, but the bottom line is the freedom which comes free along with the product we purchase.

The second way to interpret that question is defined by the following lines :
  • If you want to have good income, SELL PRODUCT.
  • If you want to have great income, SELL OPPORTUNITY.
  • If you want to have immense income, SELL TICKETS.


Let me explain these independently to you all readers:

If you want to have good income, SELL PRODUCT: In this case the emphasis is on the utility of the product, the benefits it provides to the end user or the consumer. The product is explained in an awesome way and the person presenting the product must have a more than good knowledge about it. What happens most of the time that people involved with this method of selling end up telling that they have the best product in the whole industry and nobody could have a better one at this price and all that crap which the customer has got bugged up with by listening to so many advertisements and people around them. This is one of the main reasons why there is so much of negativity surrounding our industry is because of the fact that when we say ,“We have the best product!!”, we end up talking negative about the other companies in the same industry and one way or the other that ends up in our debacle only.

 Another reason is that the customer can tell that,” I saw your product and they are not good!!! Sorry I’m not interested.” So the conversion ratio in this way of marketing is on the lower side.

If you want to have great income, SELL OPPORTUNITY: : In this case the emphasis is on the business plan of the company and the what you are selling here is a great opportunity which can turn the life around as it did for so many people. Nothing wrong in doing this, and it certainly fetches more sales than the previous way of making sales as you talk more about the prospects interests and less about yourself and the comparisons of your product with other companies products. But again in this case we end up telling, “We have the best compensation plan!!” and the whole negative talk about other companies involved in the same industry comes back to haunt us. Plus in many cases the prospects tell,” I don’t think that I can earn money this way”, or  “this is not a business for me and my kind of people”, or “ I cannot convince others” and blah blah!! So the conversion ratio is again not so high but it is definitely better than when you were just selling the product.

If you want to have immense income, SELL TICKETS: “SELL TICKETS”. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY TELLING SELL TICKETS”, this is the first response I hear when I tell my associates the underlined statement. I don’t mean that one should start earning by organizing events and start pinching money from that. That will be the fastest way to make sure that your business is killed and you lose credibility amongst your team members. What I mean to tell here is that one should know how to edify his successful uplines and other successful leaders in the industry and emphasize on their life-styles at the young age which they are living, the freedom which is so elusive to everybody and thus organize weekly or monthly events and gatherings where the crowd of prospects could be pulled in to hear such a Great Young Charming and immensely Successful Leader. By show-casting his successful life story, you can explain the benefits of the products which he also purchased, the opportunity which turned his life around and the future which awaits all of us, which is his present today!! And the prospect cannot say (90 % of the times)," I saw your successful upline/leader, I don't like his success and freedom."or "I don't like giving autographs".

SO SELL PRODUCT, SELL OPPORTUNITY AS WELL BUT DON’T FORGET TO SELL TICKETS :-)

KNOWING THE ROLE OF PIN RANK/TAG

Few past days i ve interacted a lot with a very dear friend of mine and my sponsor in network marketing. he has been achieving a good successful expansion off lately by doing some minute changes and defining the roles of various pin rank holders in his organization. that helps a lot for the new comers and new pin rank holders also to know their exact roles in the organization and this way they can easily have performance or result oriented goals dependent on their understanding of the situation.


For example the  role of a check achiever should be to do lots of invitation and make sure that he covers a lot of personal presentations and uses the testimony of having earned a cheque / income and thus increase the conversion ratio.


Similarly a cycle achiever's role should be to make sure that he is responsible for covering as many presentations and follow ups as he can , not only in his behalf but on the behalf of his whole team, as he s a proof of the fact that u can earn the money back which u ve initially put into the business for buying the product.
this is the first question with 90 percent of the prospects as well as the associates who join ur network. so this puts a confidence across ur team as well as the prospects.

YOU AS A BRAND

The way it is really important for many companies and products to spend time and money for trwansforming a product into a brand to increase the sales of that product and thus result in scaling up of the business, similarly in multi-level marketing one has to work on brand building of his group , his work ethic and most importantly his WAY OF LIVING as that the most attractive feature of a network marketor.


We should very carefully choose the places where we shop , we eat , the places we hang out and most importantly the people we hang out with.

DEPTH AND WIDTH IN NETWORK BUILDING

It is extremely important to have depth in network you ve built but it's equaly important that you should an eye on its widening as well..

Well , let me first tell you what do i mean by the terms "depth" and "width" here:

Depth represents the stability of your network as it is determined by the no. of core leaders ( leaders with core qualities ) in each lines you ve built so far.
Width is determined by the no. of independent lines that report directly to you and not via any of your associates. While depth makes your network stable ,width provides you the BARGAINING POWER
and thus is important for a regular and increased flow of income.

Now there are several roles one network marketor has to learn to live in the process of building a stable , independent ever growing network which is self sustainable as well. We must understand that our job in network marketing is to get out of job. Now this getting out of job is done by changing roles with changing and growing nature of the line in your network. Remember this that one has to select a role according to the situation in a particular line of your network and not on the overall performance.

THE ROLES:
  • THE FIELD WORK ( more apt will be home work-- remember it's HBB )
  • THE WEEKLY COUNSELOR
  • THE MONTHLY COUNSELOR
  • PRESENCE

THE FIELD WORKER
This is the bulding phase of your network. This is the stage which one is at whenever he's starting a new line in his network for widening it. You got to go inside the drawing rooms, hostel rooms, PGs,etc of newly signed up associate and teach him the basics of network marketing by showing him everything on the field by doing and not just by telling .... I repeat .. NOT JUST BY TELLING. 
This is the start where you got to show the importance of the work culture of sales and you got to get the hesitation of approaching prospects out of him. You got to teach him that it is OK to get neglected by a few (or many) , that being afraid of failing is the fastest way to fail. Basically you have to explain him the basics of sales.

THE WEEKLY COUNSELOR 
The second phase of your leadership. This phase comes when you have a small bunch of associates working part-time, full-time, time-passingly in that very line.Till this phase you have worked yourself out of the job of the field work you were doing, but only for this particular lineand you have asssociates in your network who are taking presentations and have learnt the basics of sales. Now you have to make sure that are meeting the various associates in your network once or twice in a week for seeing their work progress, suggesting them a better way, taking board presentations and various training meetings. Along with this you have to create presentors, trainors and organisors out of your associates. And till this stage you will always find a few who will be very willing to take up that responsibility.

THE MONTHLY COUNSELOR
The third phase is the phase where one begins to enjoy the benefits of FINANCIAL FREEDOM. Till this time you have worked yourself out of the job of taking regular board meetings and house meetings in a particular place( city, town or locality) for a particular line and you have been successfully replaced by a few  of your core leaders who are in the second and the first stage of leadership with respect to their groups and organizations. At this stage you have to meet the most senior core leader in u=your downline once or twice a month and take a training meeting and a venue meeting once or twice in month. At this stage you must have a few numbers of lines so that you can keep paying visits to all of them at a regular interval and keep your self busy and at pr with the pace of the incresing work as well.

PRESENCE
The final stage of leadership w.r.t. a line where your mere presence works as a catalyst for the group and increases the work. 

P.S. One should never leave a line on anybody but if one has around 30 to 35 core leaders in a particular line , even if he drops dead very next minute , that line will continue to grow exponentially.
